Ford Capri: The Ford Capri Photo Gallery 1995

1995 March | May | June | July | August | September | October

This 1995 gallery comprises of all the photos I took of the humble Ford Capri with several of the ealier photos already appearing on my website, under the FordCapri/Modified/Custom/Drag Race headings. Some of the images will be the Capris I owned at the time, but this gallery is mainly a record of Capris I saw that caught my attention at car shows and club meetings. I have meticulously scanned my photo albums in chronological order and I have listed dates and places of the images as per the references made at the time in my photo albums. All these images are stored on vgy.me due to limited space on my webserver.

1995

Snowy home - January 1995.

The 2.0GL was not going anywhere, it had been laid up since August 1994 but it did eventually go to a 'banger' racer.

1995

Capri Club International Convention at Stoneleigh, near Coventry.

March season opener for the Capri Clubs at Stoneleigh Agricultural Show Ground, this year was celebrating 25 years of the Capri.

Devon & Cornwall Capri Jamboree - May 1995.

Met up with the Hampshire Capri Club at Crealey Adventure Park, near Exeter on their annual weekend camping trip. Added to the May gallery but from April is a lonely image of the only Capri I saw at Wheels Day, Aldershot.

CCI National Concours Day, Windsor Race Course - May 1995.

Another good turn out of Capris that I hadn't seen the previous year and I attended with the Hampshire Capri Club.

East Devon CC, Summer Mirage, Knowle Hall, Bridgwater - June 1995.

My relationship with the Avalon Club had cooled in the previous winter months but had warmed sufficiently by now that I was on their club stand for this show. The first picture is the 2.8i Capri at home having just been de-striped. The pink lenses you see on my 2.8i were clear perspex light covers from the Capri Club but I had access to a variety of coloured sticky backed translucent films from my place of work to tint them. The Summer Mirage show for 1996 would be run by the Avalon Club.

Auto Trader Sunday Bracknell and 2.8i respray - Jul 1995

Attended with the Hampshire Capri Club again, I remember it more for the dust thrown up by the adjacent vehicle activity and blowing on our cars and stand. The following day I began to strip the Capri down of it's trim and anything else I coud take off before driving it over to Autocrash in Salsibury. There were to be subtle mods like smoothing the panel joins and filling the holes left by the spoiler, side bump strips and mobile phone aerial hole. I was cleaning up all the other parts and repainting my self. The final part of the month shows a mini photo shoot done at a Tesco building site in Midsomer Norton that a friend, Terry, was a security guard at and he brought his 2.8i along too.

CCI Summer Camp, Sherrif's Lench , near Evesham - Aug 1995

Yet another memorable day and evening and debut of the 2.8i with its new look on the Saturday. Hanging out with the Avalon club but this time had the luxury of a tent to sleep in. Didn't stick around for the show and shine on the Sunday as I went to Ford Fair instead.

Fast Ford, Ford Fair at Cornbury Park (Oxfordshire) - Aug 1995

After leaving the CCI Summer Camp site, I drove across country for another meet up with the Hampshire Club and the debut of my 2.8i with its new look.

Yeovil Capri Club Show, Lufton Manor, Yeovil - Sep 1995

Small local show, not much to say, or I was too busy socialising to bother taking many photos.

CCI Caprimania! Stoneleigh - Oct 1994

Fifth visit to the end of season CCI organised show, back at Stoneleigh Agricultural Centre and in the 'cow sheds'. This time I got to show off my Capri, now with the wheels painted to match the rest of the car. I displayed under the banner of Warminster & District Capri Club, that I loosely ran with Terry at the time.
